Design and deployment of a real-time election day Situation Room integrating call centre operations, GIS-enabled dashboards, and rapid response teams to ensure incident visibility and swift action in a high-stakes gubernatorial election.

During a high-stakes gubernatorial election in South-South Nigeria, the campaign council faced a challenging environment with connectivity gaps, a history of localised incidents, and risks of voter disenfranchisement. Manual call logs and fragmented local teams led to slow response times and uneven coverage of high-risk polling units.

VIISAUS designed and deployed an integrated Election Day Situation Room, combining call centre operations, GIS-enabled dashboards, and rapid response field teams. The platform enabled centralised incident visibility, AI-assisted call routing to the nearest field team, and tiered escalation protocols embedded in the workflow.

The impact was immediate and measurable:

  • Average response times fell by 60 per cent.
  • Coverage extended to 95 per cent of high-risk polling units.
  • Only seven incidents went unresolved, well below the target.

Beyond the numbers, the Situation Room bolstered trust among campaign agents, observers, and stakeholders. It demonstrated how digital transformation and rapid-response coordination can decisively improve electoral operations in challenging environments.
