Enhancing Evidence-Based Governance through Digital Monitoring and Evaluation

The Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Initiatives oversee a broad portfolio of social infrastructure and economic empowerment projects. With data captured manually and reports often delayed, decision-makers lacked real-time insight into progress or impact. There was a pressing need for a robust monitoring and verification system to ensure transparency, accuracy, and timely reporting.

VIISAUS designed and deployed a cloud-based Monitoring, Verification, and Evaluation (MVE) tool that streamlined data capture, automated verification workflows, and delivered real-time dashboards for programme oversight. The system integrated primary surveys, satellite imagery feeds, and media monitoring modules, replacing fragmented manual processes with a unified, digital platform.

The rollout began with three pilot programmes before scaling nationwide. Through intensive training, government officers were equipped to use the tool independently, fostering internal capacity for ongoing monitoring and adaptive management.

The result was a 45% improvement in data accuracy, faster reporting cycles (from monthly to weekly), and a sustainable framework for evidence-based governance and accountability.

The new M&E tool transformed our ability to track and verify programme outcomes. The automated dashboards and data validation workflows have made reporting faster, more transparent, and evidence-based.
